THE National men’s rugby team-the Silverbacks had Kampala Coach to thank after the transport company’s offer to ferry the team to Nakuru, Kenya for the 4th edition of the Prinsloo Sevens that kick-off this Saturday at Nakuru Athletic Club.

The Vice President of the Rugby federation Alex Araire told Times Sport that Kampala Coach’s timely sponsorship would go a long way in boosting the team’s chances of putting up a decent show in the two-day event.

"They have always been there when we needed them and we thank them for that. It has also allowed the team to travel early enough and have sometime to prepare ahead of the high profile tourney,” Araire added.

The 15-man contingent, comprising of 12 players, a team doctor, coach and Head of Delegation left yesterday morning.

Silverbacks are drawn in Group C with Nakuru, Blak blad and Webuye rugby clubs.

24 teams are expected to grace the annual event. Some of the others include Strathmore, Machines, KCA, Spartans, Kisumu, KCB, Flames, Mt. Kenya, Quins, DayStar, Bungoma, Mtaa Select, Mwamba, Nondies, Egerton, Kitale, Homeboyz, Mombasa, Kenya Polytechnic and Uganda’s Impala.
