RWANDA’S representatives in the just ended Zone 5 Club Championship; CSK and APR‘s men and women are back after putting in a mixed performance in Burundi.

While APR’s women team exceeded many people’s expectations after reaching the ladies’ final, their male counterparts and CSK’s performance was well below par going by their standards.

CSK finished 4th after losing to eventual champions Cooperative Bank of Kenya 49-68 while Cliff Owour’s indomitable lions, who claimed back to back titles in 2007 and 2008, were forced to return with their tails between their legs after finishing a distant 5th.

However, APR ladies gave Rwanda something to smile about when they wrestled their way to the final before eventually losing out to Kenya’s Eagle Wings 43-75. At the semi-finals, the army side had dislodged KPA of Kenya 59-51.

The one-week tournament attracted five countries namely Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and hosts Burundi.
