LOCAL football giants APR have lined up a friendly with Uganda’s Super league heavyweights Express FC, Bonnie Mugabe reports.

The Sunday tie according to APR’s Secretary General Adolphe Kalisa will help in testing the players physically and mentally ahead of what is expected to be a long and challenging season.

"The Primus Cup has been a good test for the boys but they still need more games to get back to their best before the Primus league as well as Orange Champions League,” the club official stressed.

On top of the Primus league which starts next month and the Orange Champions league which kicks off in December, the military side is also expected to feature in the Cecafa/Kagame Cup as well as MTN Peace Cup.

Last season, Express, managed by former APR manager David Otti were beaten by less established sides Bunamwaya, coached by Edward Golola and George Nsimbe’s Victors to the 2010 league and Kakungulu Cup.

The friendly is scheduled to be played at Nyamirambo’s regional stadium.
