Rwanda’s U19 women national team bounced back from Pakistan narrow defeat to beat Zimbabwe on Tuesday by 39 runs and record their first victory at the ongoing U19 Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa.

Skipper Gisele Ishimwe orchestrated the victory as her 34 runs in 23 balls rewarded her a player of the match prize.

The win saw Leonard Nhamburo's side climb to second on the table behind England, their next and last group opponent.

Tuesday's result ensured a qualification for Rwanda to the next round of the tournament, which is the Super Six.
