Junior Women Championship postponed

This year’s Africa Women Junior Volleyball Championships has been postponed to October but the venue remains unchanged, Tunis, Tunisia. The championship had initially been scheduled to be played next month.

This year’s Africa Women Junior Volleyball Championships has been postponed to October but the venue remains unchanged, Tunis, Tunisia. The championship had initially been scheduled to be played next month.

Nonetheless, the head coach of Rwanda’s national junior women, Paul Bitok, said, "I have selected 23 players who will go for the training which starts in two weeks’ time.”

The Kenyan added, "I have been with these players in training in Muhanga and everything has been just fine. The next step is going to Kenya for more training.”

"I hope they will achieve some experience while Kenya where we intend to play against top teams,” the former Kenyan international said.

Bitok, who is a FIVB Level One coach with a Diploma in Sports Science from a University in Hungary, was awarded with the task of rebuilding Rwanda in volleyball structures as the country seeks to carve a niche in international and continental competitions.

Bitok has two-years deal with the Rwanda Volleyball Federation (February, 2010-2012).
