The new school term is slated to begin today. Scores of students were seen yesterday boarding buses to schools to begin the final term of this academic year.

Speaking to The New Times, yesterday, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education Sharon Haba said that the students needed to work harder this time round.

"This is the last term of the year, so the students need to work harder and move on the next level,” said Haba.

The Ministry had earlier refuted rumours that the school term had been extended by a week and urged all parents and school administrators to make sure that classes begin today, Monday 16, without fail.
