Rwandan local artists who participated in this year’s presidential campaigns did it for free.

"We didn’t perform for money because we had to offer our support through performances,” Tom Close said.

Intore Masamba, an artist and member of the RPF party said this year’s presidential campaigns were spectacular and vibrant compared to those of 2003.

"This year, the campaigns were highly attended, with thousands expressing their support for his Excellency Paul Kagame, which indicated that they truly wanted him back into the office.”

Pleased with the results, Aline Gahongayire, an award winning gospel artist said, "The campaigns were unique, with very many people supporting President Kagame for delivering very tangible benefits to their lives.”

During the campaigns, artists were encouraged to raise awareness during the campaigns.
