In Kigali, thousands of RPF suporters gathered at Amahoro National Stadium to wait for the results of the presidential elections.

The crowd got super excited upon hearing that the RPF candidate, Paul Kagame was voted back into office, after overwhelmingly winning by 93 percent.

Thousands cheered with clenched fists and danced to the famous ‘Intsinzi’ song, as President Kagame together, with his family celebrated the historical moment.

"Kagame has really influenced us. He has become our role model all over the world. That’s why we are here today. We are so happy,” said Jean Marie Bizimungu, 40.

A national holiday was declared on August 10. The whole country was rejoicing, with bars and discos hosting victory bashes.

The event was graced with fireworks and, various artists, including Riderman, Diplomate, Makonikoswa, Kitoko, Rafiki, Shanel and Miss JoJo fired-up the crowd, pulling them off their seats and inviting them to come closer to the stage which was mounted in the centre of the stadium.
