KIGALI - Party for Progress and Concorde (PPC) Presidential Candidate Alvera Mukabaramba, has commended the work done by the National Electoral Commission (NEC) for the well-prepared the electoral process right from the campaigns to the voting day.

Speaking shortly after casting her vote at Remera Catholic Primary School, Mukabaramba said that the entire process was peaceful and the big turnout was registered across the country.

"I thank NEC for sensitising the public about voting procedures, I expect the people to vote for their choice,” she noted.

The PPC candidate, who arrived at the polling station at 10:30 am in the company of her campaign team, was received by Charles Munyaneza, the NEC Executive Secretary and immediately cast her ballot.

"Now, I won’t predict the winner of these elections, but I can tell you that the voters will decide the winner,” she told members of the press.

Mukabaramba stressed that she would accept the outcome of the polls, saying that this will be a decision by Rwandans and has to be respected.

Munyaneza said that the exercise was carried out smoothly.
In 2003, Mukabaramba contested as the first woman for the presidency but withdrew on the eve of the elections and endorsed President Kagame who won the polls in a landslide victory.
