Secondary school students from Kicukiro District have been called upon to always set up their respective future goals and strive to achieve them so that they become responsible leaders in the future.

The call was made by Canut Dufitumukiza, the Executive Secretary of Higa Ubeho, a project under USAID which organized a solidarity camp for 700 students in the district which took place at Kagarama Secondary School.

"As students in your respective classes you should always be ambitious for your future by setting up your own goals and also lay the strategies on how to achieve the set goals” Dufitumukiza said.

He also urged them to strive for excellence in their academic endeavours, which he said, will help them to lead better lives in the future.

Dufitumukiza also enlightened the trainees on various issues concerning civic education where he encouraged them to embrace discipline, not only in school, but also in their respective communities and also be persons of integrity and patriotic.

Participants were also beseeched to fight against HIV and other pandemic diseases.

The trainees were drawn from all sectors of Kicukiro District.

"We thank USAID for organizing this camp because there are so many developmental skills and lessons we learnt here which will facilitate us in achieving our future goals,” said Jean Damascene Mbarushimana, who spoke on behalf of the students.
