PSD promises supporters agricultural transformation

Rwamagana/Kayonza - The Social Democratic Party (PSD) presidential candidate, Dr Jean Damascene Ntawukuriryayo, has promised his supporters to give agriculture high priority once elected as president.

He said this while addressing about 300 PSD supporters in Karenge sector of Rwamagana District yesterday.

The PSD presidential candidate said that once in the highest office, he would increase agriculture budget by 10%.

He also promised to provide a nursery school in every village of Rwanda and double the teachers’ salary in his efforts to promote education.

"Karenge has the best banana plantations in the country…I want all areas in the country that are suitable for bananas to look up to you,” he said.

"I will also end teachers’ poor payment once and for all, hence improving education in the country. Vote for me-give me your vote and develop Rwanda.”

Stanaslas Kamanzi, the PSD Campaign Manager, told supporters that the candidate presented to them, is their choice, and deserves all their support to win the presidential seat.

"We shall never waver to tell you that it is time for PSD, to lead the nation under Jean Damascene Ntawukuriryayo,” he said.

"The candidate wants your mandate to make changes; he is a devoted man who cherishes democracy and loves his country. That is him, since he was a student in Belgium, and has been the same in Rwanda”.

Emmanuel Ndabikunze, a teacher who has been in service for 12 years, said that PSD’s pledge of increasing teachers’ salary is what attracts him most.

"You know as a teacher, I feel happy when somebody mentions increasing our salaries. We have not managed to live like other civil servants, due to our low salaries,” he said.

Rukara-On the same day, PSD presidential candidate continued his campaign in Rukara sector of Kayonza district.

Addressing PSD crowd at Rukara Catholic Primary School playground, Ntwukuriryayo assured his supporters to steer the country to the desired development.
He said that PSD wants to cultivate stable democracy and people-based economy.

PSD candidate reminded the listeners that the country has achieved great in all spheres of development.

He reiterated his earlier promise for sustainable agriculture and farming development.
