Your word is golden

A man, without his word is nothing. If you want to be the kind of man who stands out from the crowd, you should be a man who keeps his word. This is a matter of honor. It shows strength of character, a peek into the depth of someone’s personality.

A man, without his word is nothing. If you want to be the kind of man who stands out from the crowd, you should be a man who keeps his word. This is a matter of honor. It shows strength of character, a peek into the depth of someone’s personality.

A man who is known to change his promise as often as the weather is not a trustworthy man. The men we remember in history kept their word, whether the word was bad or good. The words "I give my word” are meant to be irreversible, written in stone.

Below are tips on keeping your word;

1.Give your word only when you mean it

You should only give your word when you mean it. Your word should be like currency, like money in the bank for someone who is counting on it. That means you also only give it out over only things that matter, lest it loses its value.

2.Admit when you can’t do it

If you can’t deliver, admit it. You don’t lose face or any points when you admit that you can’t do something.  It is way better than being taken for a liar. Everyone has their limits.

3.Fulfill your promise 100 percent

Have intentions to do your best to make sure you deliver on your word. That means you fully understand the consequences of your promise, before you agree o it.

4.Never go back on your word

Even if your past experiences have cause to make you renegade, you should never go back on your word. Rather, don’t promise anything, in this way you won’t have to default. It doesn’t matter if the person you gave your word has treated you unfairly you in the past. Your word should be gold.

5.A promise is a debt

A promise is either a promise or nothing. It cannot be half-hearted, or lukewarm. Either you do it or you don’t. If you have no plans of seeing it through to the end, its better you don’t even start on it.

6.Keep your reputation intact

If you are the type of guy whose word is truly golden, it gains you a great reputation. People will come to respect and trust you. One day, you just might need to call up on some of those good points you have stored with people. Even the criminals have a code of honour, and in that respect, they have a reputation to maintain. Establish your reputation as a true man of honor.

People might argue that there isn’t any reason why he should be truthful, honest and truthful since most people are the exact opposite.

That someone who lies to you should be lied to as well. But that is exactly the reason why you should be a man of your word. Then, you can stand out to be different from everyone else.
