THE National Electoral Commission (NEC) has announced that election results for next Monday’s presidential election will be published at polling stations and district headquarters.

Speaking to The New Times, yesterday, the Executive Secretary of NEC, Charles Munyaneza, said that the development was aimed at promoting transparency during the poll.

"This time we are going to provide the officials at the polling stations with forms which they will fill and a copy will be pinned at the polling station and at district headquarters,” said Munyaneza.

He added that another copy of the forms will be filed at the consolidation centre from where they will be taken to the national level.

A total of 5,178,492 have registered to take part in the presidential elections.

Elections will be conducted at 2,123 polling stations which have been set up across the country and in the Diaspora.
