RWANDA’S U-17 national team will head to Accra, Ghana this Friday to play two friendly matches ahead of their participation in this year’s Cecafa Development Cup due in Asmara, Eritrea.

The junior wasps will play one international friendly against their Ghanaian counterparts on August 8 and another build-up game against Sellas Tetteh’s former side Liberty FC two days later.

Ferwafa Chief Executive Officer Jules Kalisa told Times Sport yesterday, "The team is departing for Accra on Friday. They will play against Ghana U-17 team as well as Liberty FC junior team.”

"The matches are aimed at fine tuning the team ahead of the Cecafa Under-20 Development and Friendship Cup in Asmara,” Kalisa added.

The Black Starlets have been in camp for close two months fining tune for their Africa Championship qualifier against Zambia this month.

The team handled by Ex-Ghana defender Frimpong Manso has been playing clubs in the Ashanti and Western Regions.

"We are working hard to build a strong team and these matches will give us the exposure. We have the qualifiers to play and we are keen on doing a good job,” Manso told Ghanaian media.

Ghana failed to qualify for the 2009 Africa Under-17 Championship finals held in Algeria.

Rwanda will host next year’s Championship from January 7 to January 22.
