KIREHE - The Social Democratic Party (PSD) took its campaign to Kirehe district yesterday.

Juvenal Nkusi, who represented party candidate, Dr Jean Damascene Ntawukuriryayo at the rally, reiterated similar developmental promises, as supporters chanted and recited their campaign slogans.

The rally was conducted at Nyakarambi School playground in Nyakarambi town.Nkusi said that the party will improve the general infrastructure of the district for the good of the community.

"We want water, electricity, feeder roads to reach every corner of the district. So, go and tell each one of your colleagues to vote PSD to help you develop,” he said.
He further urged supporters to turn up in numbers to cast votes for their candidate, Ntawukuriryayo.

"Rendezvous is on August 9…keep time and come all to vote for Dr Ntawukuriryayo. We shall later meet to celebrate victory.”

PSD representative in the Eastern Province, Francois Dukuze, emphasized the need to take the campaign manifesto down to the grassroots, so that all the people can get it.

"We all have the manifesto; most of other people who are not here have it too. But let even the few who do not, get it from you today,” he said.

Yohana Habiyakare, 57, an area resident said that he was attracted to PSD because it promised them water in all the villages of Kirehe sector.

"We recently got water and electricity in Nyakarambi town, but I doubt if it can reach all villages. In short, the story is too good to be true, and if PSD can do it ,then I support it,” he said.

PSD is expected to continue campaigning in the same district later in the week as it winds up its overall programme, party officials revealed.
