THE Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) has rescheduled the junior girls’ competition to October in Tunisia’s capital, Tunis.

The annual event was initially set for September but according to Rwanda’s women head coach Paul Bitok, the dates have been revised.

"Word from CAVB is that the tournament will now be played in October. Technically, that gives us more time to prepare,” the Kenyan said.

"I have pre-selected 23 players and the plan is to have a couple of friendlies in Kenya,” he added.

"The whole idea of traveling to Kenya is because they are at a higher level as far as volleyball is concerned, so the team will reap from playing against better opposition.”

Bitok, who is a FIVB level-one certified coach with a Diploma in Sports Science from a University in Hungary, took over the reigns of APR’s women volleyball team early this year.
