Junior Wasps vs Congo Brazzaville

THE Junior Wasps yesterday proved that they are mentally prepared for Saturday’s crunch 2011 Africa Youth Championship qualifier against Congo Brazzaville after putting four past a strong Ferwafa Academy side at Ferwafa grounds.

SC Villa’s talented youngster Kipson Atuheire gave the team a two-goal lead in the first half before further strikes from APR’s Jean Claude Iranzi and Ismail Habumugisha in the second half.

After a 2-0 first leg defeat, the team needs to win by a three-goal margin 3-0 but head coach Sellas Tetteh is not losing sleep over the seemingly insurmountable task.

"Today’s performance is testament that the team can score goals. We were playing against a quality side so we should be happy with our performance,” Tetteh said.

"It is the sort of result we needed going into Saturday’s game.”

"I expect the same performance on Wednesday against AS Kigali but one thing for sure is that the team is beaming with confidence,” Tetteh told Times Sport.

The Ghanaian also downplayed injuries in the side insisting that they were minor.
"Some of the players have knocks but they are minor and I expect them to be fully fit for Saturday’s game,” the 52-year-old said.
