Editor,
Now that the King Faisal Hospital (KFH) has launched a Neurosurgical centre, where a specialised surgical team will be put together to coordinate the centres activities, I feel more secure in the knowledge that if I ever get a serious problem I will be able to get good care right here in Rwanda.

This is important because it is cheaper for the patients and is safer because they won’t have to waste precious hours getting on planes and flying to other hospitals outside the country.

KFH is a trailblazer because the centre is the first in the region something we can all be proud of. It will enhance research with a newly opened neurosurgeon library and will also train local neurosurgeons.
