BUGESERA/KICUKIRO – The Liberal Party (PL) presidential candidate wound up his campaign in Eastern Province, with a rally in Bugesera District, which he vowed to make a top priority if he is elected president.

He promised to develop the district’s infrastructure, including electricity, water supply and to tarmac the Ngoma-Bugesera-Nyanza road.

Flanked by the party president, Protais Mitali, campaign manager, Francois Byabarumwanzi, among other PL officials, Higiro, observed that water is one of the main problems affecting the region.

Higiro also promised to improve the housing situation in Bugesera, one of the districts with many families still living in grass-thatched houses.

"Nothing is impossible if people join hands. Where there is liberty and justice, as our party’s main pillars, development is possible,” he said.

The PL candidate promised to strengthen the country’s democracy, good governance and to facilitate the private investments in the education sector.

Higiro also promised to develop the country’s economy and to fight corruption where it still exists.

Shortly after addressing his supporters in Ruhuha Sector, Higiro addressed hundreds of supporters in Gahanga, Kicukiro District in Kigali City. He promised them to turn Kigali into an exemplary city in Africa while implementing its Physical Detailed Master Plan (PDMP).

He also pledged to bring to book all Genocide fugitives, who evaded Gacaca tribunals, which wound up business last month.

The party head, Mitali, who also doubles as the Minister of Youth, said that PL is a competent party with the credentials to take the country to another level.
