Gatsibo to get new hospital

GATSIBO - Plan International Rwanda has embarked on a project to construct a new hospital in Gatsibo district, Eastern Province, an official has disclosed. Speaking to The New Times on Monday, the deputy Mayor, Christine Mutyemariya, said once completed, the new health facility will boost health delivery standards in the district.

GATSIBO - Plan International Rwanda has embarked on a project to construct a new hospital in Gatsibo district, Eastern Province, an official has disclosed.

Speaking to The New Times on Monday, the deputy Mayor, Christine Mutyemariya, said once completed, the new health facility will boost health delivery standards in the district.

"We shall unveil the hospital soon. It is being built in Kabarore sector and has the capacity to accommodate a larger number of patients than what is readily available,” she said.

She added that negotiations are ongoing between the District and the line ministry as regards staffing of the facility.

"We wrote to the Health Ministry asking them to provide us with doctors and nurses to run the new hospital and their response was positive,” she said.
