Gatsata Pentecostal Church on Sunday donated money, clothes and food stuffs worth Rwf 2.4m to 45 needy residents of Gatsata Sector, Gasabo District.

Speaking during the occasion, the president of the church choir, Desire Minani, said that it’s their responsibility as servants of God to help the needy.

"This donation is meant to improve the social welfare of 45 vulnerable residents in the sector because we believe that a good soul should live in a healthy body,” he said.
He revealed that the donation was solicited from ADEPR members in a period of 50 days during several crusades at the church.

Minani added that they will endeavour to provide similar support to other vulnerable residents in various sectors in the district.

He further revealed that they would also buy some shares for the needy in the Umurenge credit and savings schemes.
Immaculate Mukuzanyana, in charge of social affairs in Gatsata, thanked the church for the donation and called on others to emulate it.

"We are very pleased to have been given such crucial support by Gatsata ADEPR,” said Charlotte Mukeshimana, who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries.

"I am optimistic that this will help us improve our living conditions. For example, I am going to use part of this money to pay for the Mutuelle de Sante (communal health insurance scheme) for next year”.
