Editor, As a member of the legal fraternity, although not practicing, it was with sadness that I heard about the death of Jean Haguma. I want to remember him, not as the eminent lawyer and former president of the Bar Association of Rwanda he was, but rather as someone who helped advise a simple law student during his internship about his chosen profession.

Editor,

As a member of the legal fraternity, although not practicing, it was with sadness that I heard about the death of Jean Haguma.

I want to remember him, not as the eminent lawyer and former president of the Bar Association of Rwanda he was, but rather as someone who helped advise a simple law student during his internship about his chosen profession.

He went above and beyond his responsibilities as the head of the firm he headed and took pleasure in seeing me improve as a lawyer and a person. Maitre Jean Haguma, you shall be sorely missed.

To his family, I wish them the best and I want them to know that their father and husband was one of the nicest men I came to know. May he rest in eternal peace.
