RUSIZI - The Mayor of Rusizi district, Fabien Sindayiheba, on Tuesday commissioned a newly built hotel in Kamembe town.

Sindayiheba, who said the hotel, would solve their accommodation problems, appealed to more investors to invest in the hotel business in the district.

"It is common that we run short of accommodation whenever Rusizi hosts many visitors. Owing to lack of hotels, many people could commute from Gikongoro, to Rusizi on a daily basis…,” said Sindayiheba.

The Mayor added that despite the fact that Rusizi is a ‘perfect place’ for adventure due to its proximity to Nyungwe National Park and Lake Kivu, the lack of hotels had hampered tourism development in the district.
Hotel D-Frank is owned by Ugandan partners.

Frank Mutebi, co-owner of the new hotel, pledged to work hand in hand with the district to develop the hotel standards. "I don’t only aim at earning money, I also love people and promise to offer the best services,” said Mutebi.
