CHALLENGERS made it two wins in as many games after Sunday’s compelling 144-run win over Strikers at Kicukiro Oval.

The reigning champions set a mammoth score of 301 thanks to Praveen Kumar’s half century (52) and good contributions from Srinath Vardhineni (43), Sairam Gopalan (38) and Evode Mutuyimana (37).

In reply, Strikers crumbled to 157 but still managed to rescue 0.5 points after a five-wicket haul by Rizwan Ziwan.

The result kept Challengers atop group A with 8.5points, 4 more than Young Tigers and a further 4.5 points clear of Titans, who thrashed Kicukiro College of Technology (KCT) by 33 runs on Saturday.

Despite Eric Dusingizimana’s century (101) for KCT, Emmanuel Byiringiro’s all-round performance (50 runs and four wickets) was enough to hand Titans a well deserved win.

In Huye, Eric Dusabemungu came to Impala’s rescue with a five-wicket haul to guide the club to a 38-run victory over league debutants National University of Rwanda (NUR).
The varsity side did well with the ball but failed to match that performance with the bat after being bowled out for a paltry 77runs.

Impala now tops group B with 4.5points. Four-time champions Kigali Cricket Club (KCC), Indorwa and Right Guards complete the group.
