Editor,

Reading The New Times, I learnt that following the approval of the Physical Detailed Master Plan (PDMP) for Gasabo, Kicukiro and Nyarugenge districts, Kigali city has earmarked Rwf 180m to market the Master Plan both in and outside the country.

I think that this is the best possible approach because I’m of the view that unless the plan is properly marketed so that investors come into the country to actually raise some of the buildings that the Master Plan projects, it will all come to naught. While the plan is wonderful, unless people come in to make the dreams into reality it shall only remain a piece of paper, with wasted dreams.

It is my wish that this campaign is successful. If it does, then Kigali will soon be far along the road of the kind of capital city that we all want it to be; clean, green and modern.
