How many countries in the world care more about their citizens than Rwanda? I have never heard of one that actually cares about the roofing situation of the poorest of the poor but Rwanda is much different.

The 86,000 grass thatched homes in Rwanda will be renovated with better roofing because the government has put aside Rwf 1.5bn for the project.

While certain aspects of grass thatching is quaint and rather charming, let it be a choice a homeowner makes and not a decision he/she is forced to make.
