THE 2010/11 season of the second division league will kick off in October according to the vice president of the national football federation (Ferwafa) Raoul Gisanura.

Though the dates will be confirmed during next month’s General Assembly, Gisanura confirmed that the league would kick-off late October. He also said that Ferwafa is already looking for a sponsor.

"We were fortunate to get some sponsorship from Bralirwa last season (the second division was allocated Rwf 8m in a three-year Rwf335m sponsorship deal between Bralirwa and Ferwafa). We are now looking for a sponsor for next season,” he noted.

Muhanga romped to last season’s second division title after edging La Jeunesse on penalties (4-3) in a final played at Nyamirambo’s regional stadium back in May.

Both teams will now play in the Primus league while Amagaju and Marines drop to the second division.
