2010 Sitting Volleyball World Cup

Sunday

Rwanda 1-3 Croatia

THE national men’s sitting volleyball team got off to bad start at the 2010 Sitting Volleyball World Championships in UCO Hamilton Field House in Edmond, Okalahoma after losing to Croatia by 3 sets to 1.

However, the President of the National Paralympic Committee Dominique Bizimana, who is also the captain of the team, insists that it is not all gloom for the first timers.

"Croatia is a very experienced team and is ranked 4th in Europe so claiming a set off them was a great effort,” Bizimana’s email to Times Sport read in part.

Rwanda is drawn in Group C with Hungary, Croatia, South Korea, defending champions Brazil and African champions Egypt.

Other countries in contention include Bosnia, Herzegovina, China, Canada, Libya, Kenya, Iraq, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Russia, the Netherlands, German, Morocco, India and Great Britain.
