Meanwhile, Michelle Tardy is on the verge of becoming the new U-17 head coach. The Frenchman jets in early next week to finalise talks with the Ministry of Sports and Culture (Minispoc) and Ferwafa. Tardy has worked in Qatar and United Arab Emirates.
Patrice Lair left the post vacant last month after agreeing to coach Lyon’s women side.
Next year, Rwanda will stage the 9th Africa U-17 championship. The tournament will be held at three venues; Amahoro, Nyamirambo’s Regional stadium and Rubavu stadium.
