SACKED Police coach Jean Paul Munyankindi is desperate to land the head coaching job at Mukura.

The Southern Province side, which parted ways with Ali Bizimana at the end of last season, has been linked with Munyankindi and ex-Rayon and Kiyovu coach Antoine Rutsindura.

Although Mukura’s top officials remain tight lipped, inside sources report that Munyankindi has made his intentions clear.

"Munyankindi seems to have the backing of the club’s management,” the source said.

However takes the job is expected to work closely with former Amavubi and Mukura defender Canisius Nshimiyimana who recently hand up his boots.

Nshimiyimana was part of Amavubi’s team which played in the 2004 Africa Nations Cup in Tunisia. He is also part of the 1999 Cecafa Challenge Cup triumphant side.

Bizimana resigned at the end of last season after helping Mukura to 8th spot in the Primus League. In 2009, Bizimana nearly ended the club’s trophy drought only for the team to suffer a 1-0 defeat in the MTN Peace Cup final against Atraco.
