A friend who lost his school bag on the first day

Yesterday, we reported to school and the number of children who turned up was not as big as always. Our teachers were happy to see us and ready to teach us even if the number of pupils was not as big as usual.

As usual, we all gathered at the morning assembly to be addressed by our teachers and our headmistress. They welcomed us and later read out to us the new term’s rules and regulations.

Among the new rules they told us were, being discipline, reading hard and keeping clean in every area of our lives. We spent only 15minutes at assembly and went to our respective classes.

We were very happy to find Mr. Rukundo  our class teacher waiting for us in the class room. P.5 is my new class; everything in this class is so strange. The way pupils sit differs from the way we used to sit in P.4.

As usual, the Mr. Rukundo  we all knew as our class teacher introduced himself and later called upon everyone to introduce themselves.

Everyone was later called upon to lift up his/her school bag and show the teacher all the scholastic materials. Every one showed his bag except Tom, when the teacher asked Tom why he had come to school without his bag, he said he lost it on his way to school.

Further investigations were made and later discovered that Tom’s bag was stolen by some strangers in a play ground where he had first gone before reporting to school.
