GERMANY’S Thomas Mueller earned the Golden Boot Award, given to the leading goal scorer at the World Cup.
Mueller scored five goals in seven games.

Spain’s David Villa, Wesley Sneijder of the Netherlands and Diego Forlan from Uruguay all struck five times as well, but Mueller earned the accolade with three assists.

Germany defeated Uruguay 3-2 in the third-place play-off on Saturday.

Spain secured the title with a 1-0 win over the Netherlands at Soccer City on Sunday night.
