Synopsis :  The Notebook is an epic story of enduring love that offers something for anyone who has ever been in love or yearned for love. It is centered around an older man who regularly visits and reads aloud to an older, invalid woman in an old people’s home.

From a faded notebook, the old man’s words bring to life the story about a couple who is separated by World War II, and is then passionately reunited, seven years later, after they have taken different paths.

Though her memory has faded, his words give recreate for her a turbulent youth and unforgettable love that once existed.

Takes you from the innocence of youth to the uncertainty of growing up, and the pressures of adulthood, and yet you can’t help it but love the couple whose undying love for each other spans six decades.

Verdict : It is a beautiful movie that appeals to the romantic without getting overly mushy. Based on the best seller novel by Nicholas Sparks (The Notebook, 1966), the movie tells of a teenage love that lasted a life time, against all odds. It is an emotional piece, easily makes the viewer’s tears flow.

It is well directed, with great scenery and location, and although some scenes are rushed, there is continuity that keeps it flowing for the entire 120 minutes.
