The Tanzania first division club, Yanga SC are in the final stages of signing APR Fc striker Laurent Kabanda a.k.a Pierre Mukandila.

Imani Madega, the club [Yanga] president is expected in Kigali some time next month for a meeting with APR officials as he looks to strike a deal for the skilful striker.

Reliable sources in Tanzania said that Madega is planning to come to Kigali in order to persuade the military side to sell Congolese born striker who can also play on the wings to his club.

Kabanda, who has been in Dar es Salaam training with Yanga, is reported to have been offered a two-year deal and all is remaining is to secure his International Transfer Certificate from APR.

Reports coming from the military side camp indicate that the club officials are ready to allow the striker join Yanga but only if the offer is deemed right.

The 24-year-old dreadlocked forward was one of the most outstanding players for APR at this year’s Cecafa Club tournament, helping the military side to their second regional title.

Before joining APR, Kabanda played for TP Mazembe in his native Democratic Republic of Congo.

However, he and compatriot Patrick Mafisango left APR about four months ago and club official regard them to have gone Absent without Official Leave [AWOL].
