Now that the German national football team has been kicked out by the slick machine that is Spain, I want to take this opportunity to hail the new world champions, whoever they are.

Neither the Dutch nor the Spanish have been crowned World Champions before and I’m sure that the game on Sunday will be played with the enthusiasm that you expect from teams that have never tasted the ultimate glory that the World Cup is.

On a totally different note, did anyone else notice that streaker? That was the first one I believe, and that is because the South Africans organised the tournament quite well. I hope a lot of people are eating humble pie right now.
