AFTER a shaky start to his second spell at reigning champions APR, Aboubacar Barame seems to have finally rediscovered his form after steering the indomitable lions to a 75-55 victory over Espoir on Saturday; their fifth of the season.

The point guard raked in 25 points to propel the army side to the top of the league table for the first time this season.

The 26-year-old, who spent last season with Marines, also blamed APR’s inconsistent start to loopholes left by the quartet of Karim Nkusi (shooting forward), Mike Buzangu (small forward), Kami Kabange (center) and Bienvenue Ngandu (power forward) who joined Uganda’s Falcons in the off-season.

"It is never easy when a team loses three to four of their best players. It is usually hard to cope with that deficit,” he said.

APR coach Cliff Owour noted that Barame is without doubt one of the star players in the side.

"He is a multi-task player. Besides playing as a point guard, he can also play as a winger,” Owour noted.
