HOUSE MAIDS : Housemaids could be the best thing that ever happened to you

Some women hear the word maid and swear under their breath. I am sure the ones that do that have had the worst experience with these people.  Because truth be told, a number of them have left their bosses assuming the whole lot are a disgrace to mankind.

Some women hear the word maid and swear under their breath. I am sure the ones that do that have had the worst experience with these people.  Because truth be told, a number of them have left their bosses assuming the whole lot are a disgrace to mankind.

It is an unfair judgment because some housemaids have turned out to be heaven sent. The rotten apples just contaminate the good ones. Must all maids be sentenced to the guillotine because of a few others?

I have personally had the honor of knowing some of these angelic few. A lady so devoted to her work and the well being of your child that she makes you just want to adopt her!

Men say some women do not know what they want. There is a bit of truth to that. You look at a lady who fires one maid for being inefficient and literally useless, and then she hires another and finds that this one is good.

A bit too good! So good that she is becoming a threat to her. The kids simply adore her, the hubby has never complained, not even once!

She might honestly just be doing her job with no harm intended but to the boss, this girl is literally taking over her family. And we can’t say that has never happened.

Sometimes their performance is determined on the way you treat them. How do you expect maids to work excellently when employees yell and beat them all the time.

To add insult to injury you are giving her a salary not even a cow would accept and it doesn’t even come when it should!

That is no way to treat a fellow human being. Just because she works for you does not make her any less important. I am sure your boss doesn’t go slapping you around the office.

If you treat them with respect and courtesy, they will do what they do with a good heart. But if you treat them like trash be sure that they will find someone to pick on—the kids. Because they can’t stand up to you, your children will be the ones to suffer.

Again, not all of them will do that but to be on the safe side be nice to them. There are those that are a bit slow and do not learn things as fast as others. Instead of cursing and assuring them how they are no good, walk them through what it is you want to be done.

If her performance is still worrying, tell her that things are not quite working out the way you hoped and then kindly let her go. Don’t let her stay and then subject her to torture.

If all you’ve had is bad luck with maids then I’m really sorry. It is true that some of them come with ulterior motives and those are the worst kind because we trust them with ourselves, our house and most importantly our children.

But I can’t help but salute the lovely ones that have done their work so graciously. The ones that have never given you reason to be afraid or worried. The ones that look after your kids with so much care and always make sure that they come first in everything.

When the time comes and they feel they have to do something else with their lives, you feel your world being literally turned upside down. But you know she has to go.

Giving away a small present on the day she’s leaving is a simple gesture but it will let her know that her services were really appreciated. And who knows, you’ll probably be blessed with another one just like her.
