Now that Rwanda’s league champions APR FC sealed a historic treble in what has been a perfect season after defeating Rayon Sport 1-0 in the final of the MTN Peace Cup, yesterday, at Amahoro stadium, I have to admit that they are East Africa’s best football club.

With stoppage-time thunderbolt strike from skipper Patrick Mafisango, they’ve not only extended Rayon Sport’s trophy-less spell to five years but ensured a third title for the military, who have won the Cecafa/Kagame Cup title and Primus National League title already this season.

Now all I can wait for is to see whether they can finally reach the group phases of the Orange African Champions League. If they can do that, they will be, rightly, named the best APR FC side ever.
