Editor,

As Rwanda prepares to commemorate on 4 July, the 16th Anniversary of Liberation Day, please allow me to convey my warm greetings and best wishes to the Government of
Rwanda and to all Rwandans living not only in the country, but also in different parts of the world.

In most cases, liberation comes at a price and Rwanda’s liberation too, came at an enormous price. While we commemorate this important day, we do remember all the innocent lives which were lost in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

As you have very rightly mentioned in today’s editorial, Rwanda still needs liberation from poverty and if all Rwandans and friends of Rwanda work hard together and live in perfect peace and harmony, keeping the Government’s Vision 2020 in mind, the liberation from poverty may well become a reality in Rwanda - the land of a thousand hills and of a million smiles!

Warm regards
