AEL Limassol has decided to hold on to Hamad Ndikumana a.k.a Katauti thereby putting an end to recent reports that the left back would be joining Greek champions Panathinaikos.

The former Amavubi skipper had been linked with a move to Panathinaikos but an increment in his wages forced him to reconsider.

"I’m staying at AEL Limassol and will continue to work hard and achieve big things with this club,” he told Times Sport.
Katauti, who turns 32 in October, has now embarked on pre-season training ahead of the Cyprus season which kicks off in August.

With the 2012 Africa Nations Cup qualifiers round the corner, the former Rayon Sport player also believes he still has what it takes to play for Amavubi Stars.

The wasps open their campaign with a home fixture against Ivory Coast’s Elephants.
