Esperance sends eight to World Cup football for hope tourney

A team of eight players from Esperance Youth Club based at Kimisagara Youth Center is in South Africa to compete in the 2010 Football for Hope World tournament set to run from July 3-10 in Johannesburg.

A team of eight players from Esperance Youth Club based at Kimisagara Youth Center is in South Africa to compete in the 2010 Football for Hope World tournament set to run from July 3-10 in Johannesburg.

The team, which left aboard Kenya Airways on Sunday comprised of Anne Marie Ibangarye, Dossir Uwase, Chadia Uwamariya, Mefia Hakizimana, Innocent Twagirayezu, David Nzabita, Jean de Dieu Rukundo and Gustave Higiro.

The tournament, which is open to players (boys and girls) between the ages of 15 to 18, is aimed at promoting good health, peace building, children’s rights, environment, social integration, anti- discrimination and education among others.
