• To lift the inaugural Computer Point T20 trophy

AFTER struggling against the big guns; Kigali Cricket Club and Challengers over the last seven seasons, Indorwa seem to have finally come of age after lifting their second trophy of the season on Sunday.

Indorwa romped to a three-wicket victory over Challengers in the final of the inaugural Computer Point T20 tournament held at Kicukiro oval.

Challengers, who had lost to Indorwa twice en route the final, again found the going tough as they could only post a paltry score of 96 all out.

Sairam Gopalani, who went on to win the tournament’s best batsman award, top scored with 28 as Indorwa’s bowling pair of Nayan Patel and Mihir Solanki ran through the top order.

While the score looked very attainable, Indorwa’s run chase got off to a wobbly start as wickets tumbled at regular intervals. Indorwa stuttered to 56 for 6 after ten overs but a lapse in concentration for Challengers’ fielders that saw them give all-rounder Solanki two lives in his knock of 28 and Vinith Kumar (20) a couple of chances, changed the tide and fortunes of the game permanently.

Kicukiro College of Technology (KCT)’s Eric Dusingizimana scooped the man of series award while Nayan claimed the best bowler’s award after picking 12 wickets.

The other individual accolade went to KCT’s rookie Innocent Tuyisenge (best fielder).

Computer Point’s Managing Director Binu Tharian Thomas was impressed with the competitive spirit exhibited in the final and promised to make the tournament a rolling trophy.
