GRIZZLIES Coach Alphonse Umugire has blamed inexperience and lack of physic for Sunday’s league defeat against Champions Buffaloes.

The Huye-based side was made to eat their words after a 39-8 battering at the hands of defending champions Buffaloes.

But Umugire, who is also a former Grizzlies scrum half thinks his youthful side will learn from the defeat and come out stronger in their next league game.

"I couldn’t call that defeat a disaster. Inexperience cost us. Buffaloes have several players who feature for the national team-the Silverbacks but I hope that defeat will galvanize them,” Umugire said.

Despite the defeat, the National University of Rwanda side still leads the charts with four points following their 29-07 win over Sharks on day one.

This year, Buffaloes are chasing for an unprecedented fourth league title.
