A group of nine members of the Lower Chamber of Deputies, who represent the three districts of Kigali City, on Friday, paid a visit to Kigali Sector in Nyarugenge District as part of their program to meet the people and discuss their challenges and possible solutions.

The delegation that was led by Hon. Emmanuel Mudidi, the vice chairman of the Parliamentary Committee in charge of education, culture, sports and science, briefed the residents on how the Parliament operates.

Mudidi urged the residents to implement government programs and put in more effort in making the country’s achievements sustainable. He further advised them to work harder in order to eradicate poverty in the area.

Some of the issues that were raised included lack of National Identity cards by some residents yet they want to participate in the presidential elections and conflicts related to land.

Aimable Ahimana, the district Secretary in charge of Customer Care, thanked the legislators for visiting their area adding that it gives hope to the people.

"We hope most of our problems will be solved since we have addressed them to the right people (who represent us in parliament),” he said.
