Chef Arsène Kwizera learned to cook at a young age mostly by observing his mother. Despite being mocked for spending too much time in what was perceived as a girl's realm, he knew he wanted to pursue it professionally.

He has now managed to change his father's perception who previously thought his son was not manly enough, for pursuing the art of cooking. He says that his story and skills should be proof enough for any parent who limits their child's or any young person who limits themselves from pursuing what they are passionate about and good at.

In an exclusive interview with The New Times, Kwizera, widely known as Chef Arsène, shares some table manners, tips on how to prepare healthy meals, and why Rwandan cuisine is his favorite despite having tried everything.
