Rwanda does not kill its citizens

Editor,

I would like to reiterate what the Government spokesperson said, when calling the allegations that the government had a role in the murder of Jean Leonard Rugambage "outrageous”.

The event is tragic enough without having to resort to wild and malicious allegations. Before saying such things maybe I think that John Bosco Gasasira, the self-exiled owner of Umuvugizi newspaper, should ask himself why the government would.

The Rwandan government and people paid a high price to stop extra-judicial killings, through the war of liberation. To say, then, that it (the government) is going back to the dark pre-1994 days in ludicrous.

I’m sure that when the Police apprehend the suspects, the people who said such things will be left with eggs on their faces.
