Cuban-American singer and songwriter Camila Cabello has shared her excitement with her fans after visiting the "noble giants”- silverback gorillas in Rwanda’s most popular tourism destination, Volcanoes National Park.

In expressing her reaction after visiting the gorillas, Cabello tweeted that, "I never imagined in my wildest dreams I could one day hike in the rainforest and be able to look in the eyes of a Silverback gorilla and literally bow in his presence.

"And to know that we could have an experience like this and be able to share space with these noble giants, is all made possible by people dedicated to their conservation and protection and to know that it was good for both wildlife and the local communities was CRUCIAL. I fell in love with this place and the people we met along the way (shout out to my friend Francois Bigirimana!!!),” the Havana masterpiece singer said on her Twitter.

She added that people like Bigirimana have exponentially brought up the number of gorillas and are efficiently helping to save these precious creatures from extinction. "Literally feel like the luckiest person in the world to have gotten to experience this place, and its human people and non-human people aka Gorillas,” Cabello added.

Bigirimana is a legendary, gorilla guide with an intimate knowledge of these remarkable animals and mastered their language and behaviours. He has featured in several gorilla documentaries while several experts and tourists have written about his exceptional skills.

Cabello, billions-view singer, also said she visited the Kigali Genocide Memorial, adding that "Rwandans are such a compassionate, resilient, strong people.”

Her visit comes shortly after CNN Travel staff put Rwanda on their "best destinations to visit” in 2023, precisely mentioning the gorillas and the soon to be opened Sextantio Lodge on Lake Kivu’s Nkombo Island.

Several celebrities in sports and music have taken turns in the Volcanoes Park over the years.
