PSR to support Kagame in elections

The Rwandese Socialist Party (PSR) announced on Thursday that it will support President Paul Kagame, the RPF’s presidential candidate in the upcoming elections set for August.

In a communiqué signed by party president, Jean Baptiste Rucibigango, the PSR Executive Council said that they had decided to support the incumbent because he had fulfilled all he promised in the last term.

"We appreciate President Kagame’s commitment in this ended mandate for he has achieved all he promised during the 2003 campaigns,” stated the communiqué in explaining their reason to back Kagame.

PSR outlined some of the achievements that included economic growth, ensuring of fair justice, good governance mainly through ensuring zero tolerance on corruption and women emancipation.

The party also called upon its members and Rwandan in general to turn up in big numbers for the polls slated for August 9.
