RULINDO/GAKENKE - Rwanda Defence Forces (RDF) soldiers of the 503 Brigade and residents on Wednesday extended clean water to Nyundo Primary School in Shyorongi Sector, Rulindo District as part of the ongoing army week activities.
The water project covers a radius of 1.5 km.

Rulindo district Mayor, Justus Kangwage, hailed RDF for their humanitarian gesture. He called on residents to maintain a healthy environment through using clean water for washing household utensils and drinking.

"The use of clean water is the only way to avoid waterborne diseases such as cholera and stomach worms,” said Kangwage.

One of Nyundo village residents Jeanne Mukankusi, said, "I am extremely proud of the RDF humanitarian gesture. The lack of clean water has been a problem to me and many other residents of Nyundo village.”
