KIYOVU coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira (pic) has called upon his team to pip old nemesis Rayon Sport to third place by winning their last league match of the season this Saturday.

The Nyamirambo based side is two points adrift of Rayon who wind up their campaign with an exciting clash against arch rivals and new champions APR.

Despite recruiting many players in the off season, the Greens, who play Police, have not lived up to the pre-season hype of challenging for the league title, but Ntagwabira reckons that finishing third will set the tone for a much better performance next year.

"Finishing in third position ahead of our rivals-Rayon Sport will galvanize the team and spur them on next season,” the former APR coach said.

"There is a lot of history between these two clubs so we owe it to our fans.”

Kiyovu have underlined their intentions of challenging for the league title next season after the recruitment of Atraco pair of Dadi Birori and Geodfrey Katerega.

Ntagwabira promised to release the names of the other three recruits on Monday.

"Right now we are busy preparing for Saturday’s league match, but after that, I will communicate the names of the new recruits from Atraco,” the 33-year-old said.

Ntagwabira is one of the most successful local coaches in Rwanda having won the league Cup with APR and Atraco and many other trophies.
